Apache Corporation Selects Aternity for End User Experience Management

One of the World's Leading Oil and Gas Exploration and Development Companies Embraces
Aternity’s Analytics and Reporting for Both Real and Virtual Desktop and
Application Performance and Usability Monitoring

Apache-Aternity-PressBOSTON, MA (USA) — March 17, 2009 — Aternity Inc., the industry's technology leader in end user experience management solutions for Global 1000 enterprises, announced today that Apache Corporation (NYSE, NASDAQ: APA), is leveraging the Aternity Frontline Performance Intelligence (FPI) Platform to proactively identify the causes of application performance problems as they unfold, and thereby lessen the impact on end user productivity. Aternity will also provide Apache with the technical and professional services to further support the enterprise deployment and will deliver ongoing software maintenance.

Frontline Performance Intelligence is the next-generation approach for achieving a 360 degree view of real end user experience for both real and virtual desktops. With Aternity’s FPI Platform, Apache’s business and IT executives will have precise information on the IT services experience and its impact on business results, giving them a path to constant business improvement.

“We chose the Aternity platform for its unique ability to monitor and analyze real end user experience – whether in a real or virtual desktop environment — enabling us to proactively identify desktop, network and system issues in real-time before impacting the productivity of our end users,” explained Aaron Merrick, Director of Information Technology at Apache. “Aternity’s platform provides us with the ability to detect, isolate, and pinpoint probable causes of end user problems enabling us to proactively address issues much more quickly and reduce disruptions to business productivity.”

Since 1954, Apache Corporation has grown to become one of the world's top independent oil and gas exploration and development companies with $29 billion in assets. To accomplish its mission, Apache relies on the availability of its most critical applications including SAP® and Halliburton’s Landmark Graphics©, delivered via Citrix®. With Aternity’s FPI Platform, Apache gains the ability to monitor, capture, and report on end user performance metrics across geographically dispersed computers that have different hardware and operating systems, for both real and virtual desktops running on Citrix.

“There’s an increasing awareness that poor application performance directly results in revenue loss,” said Trevor Matz, President and CEO of Aternity. “Today’s proactive IT enterprise needs to eliminate the visibility gap between how end users are actually experiencing the IT services they consume – and the impact this has upon business results. We are pleased to be working with Apache, and are excited that our platform will serve as their cornerstone for empowering their real end user experience management initiative.”
